FALSEHOOD #32: Biden falsely claimed that Trump supporters killed police officer, Brian Sicknick, on January 6th.
Biden said, “It’s one thing for literally criminals to break through cordon, go into the Capitol, kill a police officer and be held unaccountable, than it is for people objecting, marching on a Capitol and saying you are not allowing me to speak freely, you’re not allowing me to do A, B, C, or D. And so they’re very different criteria.”
EXPLANATION: The false narrative was that Trump supporters, during the January 6th Capital attack, struck an officer, Brian Sicknick, over the head with a fire extinguisher. This led to the officer being rushed to the hospital and being placed on life support. The following day he passed away.
In reality, he was never hit in the head by a fire extinguisher. The medical examiner ruled that his death was from natural causes, not internal or external injuries from being attacked.
New York Times and MSNBC were primarily responsible for pushing this falsehood.
Real objective and investigative journalism would have prevented these falsehoods from being reported.
